Terms & Conditions
1. Quotations & Validity
- Quotes are valid for 14 days and subject to a site survey.
- Installation dates may be adjusted by +/- 5 working days.
2. Payment Terms
- 50% deposit upon quote acceptance and installation booking.
- 20% on completion of base coats.
- 20% on completion of top coats.
- 10% on completion of sealant coats.
- Custom or bespoke products are non-refundable once ordered.
- Deviation from agreed payment terms may result in job cancellation and applicable penalties.
- Deposits are non-refundable if cancelled within 14 days of installation.
3. Customer Obligations
- Ensure rooms are empty, dry, dust-free, and free from other trades.
- Substrates must be firm (no flex or movement), flat (within 3mm), dry (<75% Hydrometer reading), and untreated by water/moisture 2 weeks before works.
- Prior to installation, underfloor heating must be fully commissioned, gradually heated over 2–3 weeks, and put through a heating and cooling cycle.
- Maintain temperature >18°C and <80% humidity 24h before to 48h after installation.
- Prevent access to surfaces for 48 hours post-application.
- Provide water/electric supply (240V/110V), overhead lighting, and warm air heating (no gas heaters).
- Allow unobstructed access and delivery logistics (including trucks/vans).
- Provide compliant waste disposal and skips for commercial projects.
- Failure to meet obligations may incur additional charges or defects at customer's risk.
4. Project Changes & Postponements
- Changes must be submitted in writing no later than 2 weeks prior to start.
- Late postponements incur:
- £500 per week for scheduling changes.
- £600 per day for on-site cancellations.
5. Installation Scope
- Final invoice is based on in-situ measurements.
- Quoted sqm rates may change according to the final measured area.
- Pricing assumes one-phase installation.
- Additional costs apply for weekend or out-of-hours requests.
- Travel/accommodation for projects >30 miles from Cheltenham may incur extra costs.
6. Colour & Finish Variability
- Microcement is a handmade product and subject to natural variation:
- Minor colour or sheen differences
- Visible application strokes or dust particles - UV protection reduces, not eliminates, discolouration.
- Appearance varies by site and is not guaranteed to match samples exactly.
- Samples are indicative only; first is free, extras £150 each.
- Decoration/touch-up around skirting is the customer's responsibility.
7. Post-Installation Maintenance
- MUK Microcement UK Ltd surfaces are not fully resistant to abrasives, dyes, or softening agents.
- Customers must follow provided maintenance guides to retain surface quality and warranty.
8. Warranty
- Workmanship is guaranteed for 5 years against application defects.
- Warranty excludes:
- Substrate issues, misuse, damage from third parties
- Changes due to wear, UV, or improper maintenance
- Damage from failure to comply with customer obligations
9. Cancellation & Cooling-Off
- Domestic customers may cancel within 14 days of contract (in line with UK Consumer Contracts Regulations).
- Cancellations after 14 days incur costs for any custom orders or preparation work undertaken.
10. Change Control & Variations
- Any additional scope or changes must be agreed in writing.
- Extra works will be priced separately and must be approved before proceeding.
11. Sign-Off
- The client must inspect and sign off the works within 5 working days of completion.
- Failure to raise any defects within this time constitutes acceptance.
12. Force Majeure
- MUK shall not be liable for delays due to events outside reasonable control (e.g., extreme weather, pandemics, supply chain disruptions).
13. Limitation of Liability
- MUK's liability is limited to the value of the contract.
- No liability for indirect or consequential losses.
- Not responsible for substrate-related failures unless treated in scope.
14. Data Protection
- Customer data will be handled per GDPR. We do not share data with third parties outside of fulfilling contractual obligations.
15. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
- These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
- Disputes shall be resolved amicably or via the Courts of England and Wales.
